There are weird, wild and wacky weather going on almost every minute of every day.  It is the focus of our 6th grade year.  This page will give you a quick and easy way to find resources that you can use to monitor the news.

Our best resource is the Twitter feed we have for Room 66. In the fall of 2010, students held a big class discussion where it was decided that the timeline was very difficult to read so we tried to find a better way.   Instead of reading the typical Twitter timeline, students picked a program called Paper.li to daily collect all the information sources and publish Ratzel Room 66 Tweets in newspaper form.

Earthweek provides another source of information, although it is updated on a weekly basis so the Ratzel Room 66 paper is more current.  Every week there is a world map that will give you locations of the “hot spots” throughout the world…the icons will tell you what kind of weather is happening there.  If you click on the icon, you’ll find a short, easy to read article is hyperlinked.

Since this is our page….if you find a terrific source please contact the blog manager for your class.  They will help you write up the resource, gather the image you’ll need and we can continue to add to these resources.
